Summary
Working as a barrel-maker, or Cooper, is a comfortable routine. You wake up, you prepare your workshop, and you make casks. At the end of the month, The Duke comes to collect your hard work, as he has every month for quite a few years. Though recently, you have been alone in the endeavor, and it's been hard to make your quotas for the man, and ultimately, for his employer.
A certain Lord showing up at your doorstep on one of these visits complicates almost everything immediately, and your life is going to be changed forever.

You go to Romania on vacation as a break from teaching and research, hoping to catch a glimpse of a critically endangered fish. Months ago, Castle Dimitrescu was raided by a group of men, their intentions unknown. The Lords are on high alert, unfortunately for you. As an outsider, you are deemed a potential suspect and brought to the castle for interrogation. Held in a small room, your only paths to freedom are escape (unlikely) or getting on Countess Alcina Dimitrescu's good side (somehow more unlikely). Yeah, you're gonna be here for a while. Might as well get comfy.
