    My sweet and everlasting Lady, Bell thinks to herself, helplessly curling her toes in the carpet fibers as Thorin crosses the room like a thundercloud and grabs her wrist. Not tightly enough to hurt her but she can tell from his iron strength that it would take more than her current skillset to break free unless he lets her. Maybe she should be afraid of him with that dark look on his face but his heart is still breaking in her chest—she can feel him, damn it—and all she can do is wonder at the miracle of it.

    It’s been ten long years since she’s heard proper music and his song is still rushing through her blood like the first rain after a drought.

    “How did you do that?” He demands.

    okay firstly this fic is so magnificently written and I'm just in tears and awestruck while typing this.
    It's just so heartbreaking and complex and I'm so deeply in awe even while only having 12 chapters in this work.
