“Remember, don't take things from the fae.” Hex warns Kris.
As a child Kris made an unknowing deal with a fae prince, not that he knew that. Now that he's older, he's about to go on a camping trip with his friend Loch. Does Kris have a small crush on Loch? Yes but that's not the point, not yet at least.
Loch met Kris as kids, when Kris unknowingly crossed realms and stepped into the fae realm. The two had made a promise to meet again and now that they have, things should fall into place nicely.

“Is your ego so big that it needs a whole study room for itself? I know for a fact the desk in there is big enough for us to stay out of each other's way if we sit down on opposite ends. I am assuming you're not only in this room to piss me off but have some actual assignment to do. So the quicker we both get our work done, the quicker we can leave and not see each other again.” I finish by giving him what I hope is a somewhat civil smile despite the annoyance I feel at the moment and despite the fact that I insulted him like twice during all that.
He eyes me again, appraisingly. And then he smiles, no, he smirks back. “Are you sure, boyo? You might get too distracted by how hot I am and not get any work done,” he says innocently.
Takes place during Chapter 1 of Go Luck Yourself. Instead of letting Loch get the upper hand and push him out, Kris offers a compromise. Things don't go as expected.
