Located in the mountains outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, sits the school of Mount Horizons. It's the refuge for throwaway kids-- the troubled teenagers whose parents have given up on them. Scott Barringer is one of those teenagers.
Despite what his father and step-mother might think, there's more than just teenage angst at fault for the rampant drug use and insolence. Fed up with their son, they send Scott to Mount Horizons in hope that he'll get straightened out and return a new boy. Will Scott finally be able to confront his demons, or is he destined to crash and burn forever?

Summary
Zuko had never excelled at anything. Azula was a prodigy. Uncle always knew what to say. And Father... Father was strong, iron-like. But Zuko had only ever been good at surviving. Putting one foot in front of the other in a grim show of stubborn determination, gritting his teeth and bearing it. Survival was all he had ever been taught. He knew how to do it. So when he was kidnapped by the Southern Water Tribe, he expected to fight as he always had. He didn’t expect to be taught instead how to live.
In a warring land, the Water Tribe forgave the enemy in an act of defiance. For this, he was torn from them, and this time, his wounds won't heal so easily.
Forced back into nothing but survival, the last person Zuko expected to see was Hakoda's son. Hakoda was a promise of safety. The relentless blue of Sokka’s eyes was a promise of happiness. Zuko could have both if he just reached out his hands, but he found them clutching into fists. After all, he’d been burned one too many times.
But hey, at least between Hakoda and Sokka, Zuko could appreciate the family resemblance of pure, asinine stubbornness.

Summary
What if Ward’s obsession with John B had darker intentions? Pogue life should be simple, right? Thing is, for fourteen-year-old John B. Routledge, everything goes to shit the moment his father is lost at sea and he’s placed under the guardianship of Ward Cameron. Ward becomes a relentless and impending force in John B’s life and his only reprieves are with the Pogues. When things go from bad to worse, it becomes achingly clear for John B that he has to make a stand to make an escape. It’s a good thing he has friends willing to stand with him...or more specifically, kidnap a grown man to get his confession.
OR...
Twenty minutes. That's how long Ward gave him to mourn the childhood he'd murdered single-handedly. All John B could do was struggle to his feet. Drag himself to the bathroom, and fight for the willpower not to fill the tub and drown himself in it.

Summary
“Sammy,” his father breathes, the word trembling with horror yet still somehow managing to travel to the other side of the farmhouse, where it burrows deep into Sam’s brain and heart. “Your… your eyes.”
Sam jerks back in surprise, glancing around until he catches a glimpse of a metal hook, hanging right by his head. He peers at it, trying to make out his warped reflection in the dull meta—
No.
Oh, God, no.
Sam raises a trembling hand to his face, trailing it towards the pools of inky darkness where his eyes should be, shifting and swirling with depth like a nest of shadows. The sight of it is so—so monstrous, so wrong, and Sam can’t even recognise himself in it.
This can’t—this can’t be real.
As he stares at the monster wearing his face, not even daring to blink, the darkness leaks out of his eyes, leaving their normal hazel. But even in the absence of that otherworldly blackness, he can still see it, the monster, lurking behind a young face and innocent eyes.
Sam's powers manifest earlier. John doesn't take too kindly to it.

Summary
The pain meant something. It meant that Liam chose him—if only for those stolen moments. It didn’t matter that it was never anything more. Theo had convinced himself that it was enough. After all, in those quiet, fleeting seconds, Liam was the only one who ever seemed to want him.
But then Hayden came back.
