The fourth of July. The great American holiday of independence. A day where people come together with their families and celebrate, filled with pride, and joy. For most people it was a good day. Except for Eddie, for Eddie it has always been a day filled with possible triggers, and panic.
Or: Eddie's triggered by the fireworks, and gets forced to relieve his worst trauma. Buck is there to help him through it.

Summary
That was the first thing Buck noticed—before the pain, before the smoke, before the sirens started to fade into a dull hum. One second he was sprinting through the collapsing building, yelling Eddie’s name. The next, he was shoved hard from behind—concrete crumbling overhead, heat licking at his heels—and he was flying.
Then: darkness.
Distantly, he felt gravel scrape his cheek. There was yelling. Heavy boots. Someone screaming for a medic. His lungs burned. His ribs were screaming. But none of it mattered.
Because Eddie was alive. He’d made sure of that.
He'd pushed Eddie out first.
Through the haze, he heard a voice—frantic, raw, broken in a way Buck had never heard before.
“Stay with me, Buck. Please. Just stay.”
It was Eddie.
And even as the pain dragged him under, Buck smiled.
Because if he was dying, at least it was to the sound of Eddie’s voice.

Summary
After the lawsuit, Buck’s still on the outs with most of the team, despite being back a month and apologising almost daily. Waking one morning, and knowing it would be a rough day, Buck relishes with the knowledge that he’d be left alone and treated worse than a probie… except someone’s out with flu and Bobby reluctantly puts him back on calls for the day as a last resort. Something that should make him feel on top of the world ends up feeling like another punishment. Vowing not to let the weight of the day get to him, he tries to keep his head down, only for their first call, Buck’s first in months, end up being one that forces him to relive his past and he reveals things about himself he’d kept secret for ten years.
