Summary
In the world of the Faes, there are three big groups.
The Light Faes, ruled by King Zeus and Queen Hera.
The Dark Faes, ruled by King Hades and Queen Maria.
And the Nature Faes, ruled by King Poseidon and Queen Sally.
When Poseidon and Sally present their first child and heir to the other royals, Sally and Maria already plan the future of their sons. Hera won't have any of that. A union between the other two groups would be dangerous, so she abducts Percy and keeps him hidden until he's of mating age and she can arrange for her own heir to rescue Percy heroically and become his mate, forming a strong bond between Light and Nature.
What she didn't anticipate was for Nico to live through the assassination of the Dark royals. Hidden in the woods, living with his little band of thieves, Nico grows up with the goal of destroying Hera and her schemes.

Nico is a deer-shifter and the king of the forest. But when a chemical spill kills the water nymph of his forest, all his subjects seem doomed to die. So Nico leaves his forest and herd behind to begin his quest of finding a new water nymph. It's just troublesome that his heat starts half-way through his journey...
Coincidentally, Percy is a bored water nymph. After his mother's death, he doesn't see a reason to stay in his old waters, because he had never really been accepted. What about being a boy and going through some kind of heat on the search for the perfect guy to knock him up was normal?!

Nico is a Tooth Fairy and so is his sister Hazel. When Hazel's mate Leo, one of Santa's elves, goes missing after Christmas, Nico goes and looks for Leo.
Percy is a single dad to three adopted little boys. Said boys captured an elf on Christmas and decided to keep him as a pet.
Now, when Nico finds and frees Leo, he is stunned that the boys' father can see him. Even more so when that human triggers Nico's heat.
