Summary
"Martin always felt the chill of the winter to his bones. The dry December air would steal moisture from his lungs, and the warmth from his body. Everything about its cold sting made him feel so far away. Whether it was because of the memories that the holidays dredged up, or because it always made his younger self yearn for more. For things he never thought he would have. Things he didn’t think he deserved, up until recently: like love, and warmth, and a home that--finally--felt like one. "
~ After 6 years, Martin is visiting home for the holidays. Christmas has always been a complicated time of year for him, and seeing his family again was about to make it a whole lot harder. Faced with his homophobic extended family, Martin has to navigate their scathing remarks--while he struggles to avoid drowning in the icy water of his past. ~

Summary
11 years. That's how long his hands have been lugging around corpses, arduously lifting furniture and boxes, scrubbing floors, polishing swords, and other familiar duties. There was a time, before, in the years where his eyes were brighter and his face youthful, where those hands were once soft.
Nandor never noticed the difference. He never really payed attention. When has he ever? Not until after the theatre, where he seemed to be paying attention to his human more than ever. Did he notice the rough etches of his ex familiar's skin, the callouses that lined the pads of his fingers, a sign of the dedication and the years he had given to him. He was always taking from Guillermo. Maybe it was time he gave something back.
