Richie swallowed. His throat was dry.

“Don’t touch me, Eddie, trust me. I might have AIDS,” Richie practically spat, hurt obvious in his voice. It took a moment, but then it all clicked in Eddie’s head.
“Richie, don’t leave!” Eddie cried out.
“Why not?” Richie yelled right back, “You hate me now! You think I'm gross and contagious and diseased and all those things you hate.”
“No I fucking don’t!” Eddie shouted, and Richie froze. “I don’t think that and– and if you’re gross and contagious and diseased, then I am too, okay? So just calm the fuck down.”

Summary
If someone were to ask Stan if he was in love with his best friend, he could easily respond with an entire list of reasons as to why that could never happen. However, even if he came up with all of the reasons in the world as to why he shouldn’t be in love with Kyle, that wouldn’t necessarily mean he wasn’t in love with Kyle. It was, of course, much more complicated than that.
