Summary
Cloud thinks that he found a way to make easy money. All he has to do is deliver supplies to a nearby town and exterminate some monsters that had been causing trouble there - with the help of his best friend and fellow ex-Ranger Zack, of course. Then he would get paid for his troubles, ride back home to his wife Tifa far richer than he had left, and he could finally give her the good life. The life he had always hoped he could one day provide for her when they shared their vows.
Yet things never work out so easily. Monster hunting and running the supply chain quickly become the least of his worries as his troubled past catches up to him, and he finds himself sucked back into the high-stakes world of outlaws, killers, and old debts that need repaying. It is a world that he had so desperately climbed out of years ago... except this time, he isn't sure if he can climb back out.
