he kisses sasuke back, and light floods sasuke’s entire being. the clear, rushing feeling of hope, inexplicable and unshakable, fills him for a second too long, washing him clean of his fears and doubts, leaves him gasping at the whorl of bright possibilities that burst to life behind his eyes.

"Wanna bet?" The prick grabbed Megumi's wrist and pulled him closer. The thoughts of peaceful resolution had vanished, and the guy had exactly three seconds of consciousness left before Megumi's fist bashed his empty head in. "Just don't feel too bad for him afterwards. I can–"
His words turned into a gurgle as a jet of water burst into his face. The stream pinned him even as he stumbled back, choking, using Megumi's book as a shield.
Then, the water stopped. Megumi stepped back, wiping the mist off his cheek, and whipped his head toward the source.
"The fuck?" The guy coughed up water and shouted, "What's wrong with you, asshole?"
Itadori pressed the trigger again, but the water gun hissed empty. "My bad, I missed."

Summary
Bucky doesn’t like John Walker.
Let’s get that out of the way. He doesn’t like the way he talks, the way he breathes superiority like it’s earned, or how he carries that mangled shield like it’s anything but a fake.
He hates how John makes it all look like a game—like this life, this country, these sins don’t weigh on him every time he looks in the mirror.
But Bucky's no stranger to hypocrisy. Because he shows up at John’s shitty apartment anyway, hood up, knuckles bruised, pretending the night’s cold even though he doesn’t feel it anymore.
John answers the door in a t-shirt that clings too tightly to his chest and eyes that flicker between confusion and something else—something too close to hope.
“You're cold,” he states, not unkind.
Bucky doesn’t answer.
He just steps inside.

Summary
Orochimaru sends his best operative to infiltrate a high-end pleasure house, disguised as a geisha, to extract intelligence from a noble and assassinate him. The mission is straightforward. The complication is the noble's bodyguard — Uzumaki Naruto, hero of Konoha, future Hokage, and the worst possible person for Sasuke to be attracted to.
The seduction is supposed to be a distraction. It stops being one somewhere between the moonlit garden and the dark hallway.
Naruto thinks he's falling for a woman he can never have. Sasuke is hiding two truths that will destroy everything between them: that he's a man, and that he's the enemy.
One of those reveals goes better than expected.
(Or: the one where the honey trap catches feelings, the bodyguard saw through the cover from day one, and Jiraiya's literary erotica turns out to have practical applications.)
