Summary
Deputy Derek Hale has just become a single parent, after adopting abandoned five-year-old Isaac Lahey, and drowning in his new responsibilities as a father, and Alpha. Add the babysitting of his new rookie partner, Jackson Whittemore, and the weight of his past bubbling to the surface, Derek isn't sure how he's going to keep his head straight.
Meanwhile, Stiles Stilinksi returns home to Beacon Hills to give his son, Scott Stilinksi, a better quality of life. However, raising a werewolf pup, as a human, is something he struggles handling on a daily basis. Stiles wishes nothing more than to find a werewolf willing to show his son "the ropes", so Scott can fit in with all the other pups come the first day of Kindergarten. But where would he ever find a werewolf willing to help a human?
When the two meet, their struggles in life will come to the forefront, as the loners become an invaluable support system for each other, and build a unique Pack all their own.

Summary
Stiles had never wanted to be a Sentinel. He had wanted to be a Guide like his mother, but when she was killed in front of him, fate had other plans. Now, as a detective for the Beacon Hills Police Department's Enhanced Division, he uses his abilities to serve and protect those around him, determined to prove himself as capable and in control - despite being unbonded.
Derek had never wanted to be a Guide. Being a werewolf, Sentinels were the expectation, but no one could have predicted how much fire can destroy. Now, working in the Sentinel Rehabilitation Center, he attempts to repair his own abilities as he brings back Sentinels from the edge, but each bond he mends is a reminder of what he doesn't want - something that can break.
But, when the mutilated bodies of Guides start being found, Stiles finds himself chasing after a killer that's far more sinister than he imagined and threatens more than he ever dreamed, including something he never thought he wanted.

Summary
The sheriff watched him for a moment, then he sighed and turned slightly. He reached out to open a cabinet door beside him, and pulled out a shelf. It was on a track, so it rolled out of the cabinet fairly easily, and held a small CCTV. Derek frowned and inched his chair to the side a little bit so he could get a better angle.
He was looking at a teenager, or someone at least young enough to be the same age as Scott. He was sitting on a bed in what looked to be a larger room, the area he was in surrounded by four glass walls, with his legs crossed and head tilted.
He was also staring directly into the camera, as if he knew someone was watching. A creepy smile slowly slid onto the teen’s face, and he held up one hand, wiggling his fingers in a slow, eery wave.
Derek felt his mouth run dry. He didn’t know who this kid was, but he didn’t like him.
“Who is that?” he asked quietly.
“That,” said the sheriff, “is my son.”
