Summary
There is not enough coma slurry onboard to feed Grace once he makes it to Rocky's home planet, and Erid's scientists will only be able to invent human-safe vitamins so fast. But Rocky has been doing Capital R Research on his portable earth thinking machine. Extra calories can be stored as energy in the form of fat cells in humans, and Rocky has tons upon tons of extra calories in his fuel tanks. While it won't do much for the nutrient deficiencies, why not overconsume on purpose to store energy for later?
His human friend is hesitant to agree, but the logic is sound. Gaining some extra weight now isn't going to hurt once the starvation eventually starts.

To Grace's knowledge (i.e. the Hail Mary's database, i.e. all of human knowledge), there have never been any studies done to confirm whether ambrein (a derivative of sperm whale digestive secretions!) actually functions as an aphrodisiac in humans or not.
Well, 15.8 light years from Earth, he's about to find out. Because the cytoplasm of Taumoeba consists in large parts of a triterpene alcohol that is startlingly similar to ambrein — and baby, he's all out of coma slurry.

“Grace.” Rocky’s voice has lowered to the near threshold of my capacity to discern it. I feel the word more than I can hear it, the vibrations rocking through me and making me gasp with its intensity. “Show.”

“Uh. Depends on the human, I guess,” I say, chest rising and falling as I recover my breath. I wrack my brain for examples. “Exercise, mostly. Like going for a walk, or to the gym—that’s a special building just for exercising. Or, you know you can play sport, go dancing, have sex—”
Rocky perks up at that last word, and I immediately regret it.
