Summary
Jiang Cheng hates seeing that look, hates the regret and resentment that begins to rise in his stomach. Jiang Cheng wonders if he could handle seeing that look on his brother’s past face, the face Jiang Cheng grew up with. His only solace is in the fact that that is not truly Wei Wuxian’s face, not really his eyes watching Jiang Cheng with trepidation. Except it’s not really comforting at all, because he is soon reminded that Wei Wuxian is inhabiting another’s body because he died and Jiang Cheng watched him die just like he watched a-jie and his parents die.
Because of a storm, Jiang Cheng is confronted with Feelings and forced to have an Actual Conversation with Wei Wuxian.

Jiang YanLi set down her tray and put a steady hand on his shoulder. "Later." She said, "A-Xian still needs to tell us something."
"Ah. Right." Wei WuXian seemed to shrink in on himself now that his diversion had failed. Just when Jiang Cheng considered prodding again, he began to speak. "I, uh, don't have a golden core." He said, his uncharacteristic brevity betraying the seriousness of the situation.
"Since when?" Jiang Cheng hissed, alarmed. "Did you break it with demonic cultivation or something?"
"No, no. That's not something that would happen." Wei WuXian seemed about to dodge the topic with an explanation of why exactly that was the case.

Summary
The one where Yu Ziyuan time traveled but she thought that it was her visions of her alternate life.
She learned that there is a brat named Wei Ying who brought destruction to her and her family's life.
And so in her present, she vowed that she will never allow that to happen.
In which Yu Ziyuan found the four-year-old Wei Ying, newly pushed out of the inn where his parents left him, and decided that no, this child must never be associated with her, her family, and their sect at all.
And so Yu Ziyuan thought that she could bring him somewhere where someone may or may not find him but definitely far from where her husband could find him. If he's lucky, he'll survive that winter, if he's not, then death awaits the fevered child.
This is the extent of mercy that Yu Ziyuan could give a child.
With this, she'll raise her children without having to deal with a brat that brings trouble where he goes according to her visions of her alternate life.
Like the tag stated, this is definitely not Yu Ziyuan centric.
