The cold water pounded against his body, his teeth chattered from the chill, and his body shook; but Bucky stayed. He had to get a handle on his body, he wouldn’t fall to the whims of deep old biology, but maybe it was more than that. Maybe he had fallen for Sam somewhere along the way, not realizing until he was falling face first into dangerous waters. He’s never been one to fall like this, he usually had fun flings; but never this.
Steve is on the run, and entrusted Bucky to watch over Sam; but the tension between them has grown too much.

James's heart thumped in his chest, anxiety and relief battled each other in his mind, “Come here to kill me, Wilson?”
Wade smiled, the god damn one that sent a shiver down his back, “Nope, I'm here to join you.” He relaxed his arms and slowly approached, his katanas and guns were strapped to him, along with a green backpack.
James leaves and is surprised when Wade decides to follow him. Together they carve out a small life with each other.

Shadow shifted so he was lowered over Sonic's body, which Sonic definitely ignored the rush it gave him. "I will help you but you can never tell another soul where I live, and you can never show up here again." He sat in stunned silence as he thought about the others' offer, sure he could easily agree to never reveal where the other hedgehog lived. However he didn't like not being able to see him again, something about that caused an ache within his chest. He finally broke the silence, "I agree." He held out his hand and Shadow eyed it before finally shaking on it.
After three years Sonic finds out where Shadow has been hiding on the island, and that he has a cat. This is how one concussion and loopholes finally get these two rivals together.
