Summary
Looking up from where she knelt, she spotted Dan Heng farther ahead of her, standing with his back to her and surrounded by a large group of yellow and orange flowers. He was writing something down yet again, but Stelle thought he looked ethereal amidst the backdrop, even as he was just doing something so mundane.
Stelle always thought he looked ethereal. The way he carried himself and the air he radiated was one of elegance, somehow further accentuated once she saw him in his true form. It was hard not to pay attention to a man such as him.
Slipping her phone out of her pocket once more, she angled it up towards Dan Heng and zoomed in slightly, taking a couple photos of him in the flower field. Maybe she’ll send him those images later.

Halsin stopped short, swallowing the words that had been about to tumble from his lips back into his throat. His eyes were glowing again, golden motes of magic shimmering across his body. He shook off the bear again, eyes screwing shut, before pulling Clove up to straddle his hips, nestling his head in her shoulder. Clove shifted to try to catch a glimpse of his expression, one he was burying into her shoulder. “Halsin?” she queried, shifting as much as possible beneath his vice like grip. “Apologies,” he murmured, loosening his grasp on her wrists and reaching up to stroke her jaw, “I almost lost the run of myself. I just need a moment.”
Clove shoved his shoulder back so she could see his face. Halsin’s pupils were still blown, his breath a little ragged. And the words he had choked back seemed to still be at the tip of his tongue. “Tell me what you want, bear.” she coaxed, her hand brushing through his hair to the tip of his pointed ear. Halsin shuddered under her touch, leaning in for another desperate kiss. “I could never ask it of you, my heart. I have already promised you your freedom.”

He often had her pegged when she wasn't actually paying attention. Not that it'd stop her.
“Right,” Stelle agreed absently. “That’s exactly what I thought it meant.” She hadn’t thought too hard about it after that. How hot could it be, after all? Jarilo-VI had been colder than the average world and while it was annoying, they had fared just fine while out there.
And -- she couldn't deny that she was a little excited to spend some time alone with Dan Heng, so she could be forgiven if she also shooed off his attempts to coerce another astral train crewmember into helping to fill in for March's absence.
You worry too much," she reassured him. "What's the worst that could happen?"

The sweet scent of fresh flowers suddenly overwhelmed her senses, mixing with the heady musk of their arousal and the faint smell of sweat from their earlier travel.
Childe pulled back just enough to gaze down at her with darkened eyes, his pupils blown wide with desire until only thin rings of ocean blue remained. Golden motes caught the afternoon light that seeped through her window, dancing in the air between them like tiny fireflies. "You're so beautiful like this," he murmured, his voice rough with want.
