She wanders off to the side to prepare the coffee, ignoring Nakajima’s insistent foot-tapping.

Summary
It did suck though. Lucy was inarguably one of his closest friends and their eerily similar histories meant they understood each other very well. Sometimes a little too well but that was a problem for another time. If anything, that probably made her the best candidate on who to ask for advice. He couldn’t for obvious reasons, still though it was incredibly annoying. His best hope was sitting right across from him but it’s not like he could ask Lucy how to ask herself out.

Atsushi needs advice on how to ask out Akutagawa and Lucy. He obviously can't go to anyone in the Agency for varying reasons. The next logical course of action was to go to Akutagawa and Lucy themselves.
