Summary
A light laugh came from across the room and Marvin turned around quickly, looking into their kitchen. His husband was sitting on the counter eating an apple, still in his work clothes, bag of camera equipment on the floor next to him. He was looking at Marvin with pink cheeks and a smile on his face.
A grin split across Marvin's face, “You're home early!” He rushed across the room (as quickly as he could with his bad back, anyways. He had thrown it out for the first time ever just a few weeks prior, and was still recovering. Hence the cane that Whizzer just insisted he used because he was worried. Marvin would never admit it helped.) Once he stood in front of his husband, Marvin stood on his tippy toes to reach him at the counter and pressed kisses all over his cheeks and forehead.
OR
Marvin hurt his back and isn't able to top for Whizzer the way he usually does, so Whizzer takes the reins instead and decides to spoil his husband.

“Soulmate’s not as much of a paradise as the stories say, huh, dollface?” His voice was sarcastic and witty, and it took Marvin a few seconds to register what was being said to him.
“Wouldn't know,” he replied quickly once he found his bearings again. “Haven’t found mine yet.”
Whizzer bit his lip, putting one hand on his hip and tapping his boot on the floor, head cocked to the side. “Oh, honey, you might want to check all the men you've been with tonight, then.” He shook his head in mock sympathy.
“You,”
“Hm?” Whizzer raised an eyebrow.
“The only man I've been around tonight is you.”

Marvin stood, dumbfounded.
Whizzer shut the door and clicked the lock, watching Marvin suspiciously the entire time. He let his hands drop to his sides, before turning and looking at Marvin.

“So you ended up here when you died?” James asks, gratefully accepting another cup of tea and a third helping of toast. “Not with your parents or your sister and her family?”
“I ended up here,” Anthony confirms. “I’ll admit I was confused at first. But then I remembered this is where we met. And I got talking to your friends, and they worked out who I was, and we all realised I was meant to be here. To wait for you, James.”
James doesn’t consider himself to be a romantic, but that makes his heart melt.
“I could leave of course.” Anthony stirs milk into his tea thoughtfully. “And I did, to visit my family. I can see them whenever I want. But I stayed here. I knew you would come here when it was your time, and I wanted to be here for you.”
“How long?” James asks quietly. “How long since you died? How long have you been here waiting?”
“Does it matter?” Anthony looks tired, but at the same time he looks as though a great weight has been lifted from his shoulders. “It’s been a long time, but I’ve had good company. And now it’s even better.”
OR
The Captain finally moves on. In the afterlife he finds Havers and home, and he discovers the true meaning of pillow talk.
