“Feelin’ better?” He asked gently when Arthur finally went still in his arms.
Arthur's voice came back muffled, pressed against the now thoroughly damp front of his shirt, “Sorry I ruined your shirt.”
“Don’ worry about it kid,” Noel chuckled, “Wanna talk about it?”
Arthur went silent, still holding him tight. Noel dropped his voice to press as gently as possible, “It helps to talk about it.”

Summary
Arthur pulls himself away and turns to face his partner, John begrudgingly lets him. "I think that may be a bit of a stretch. Today's incident not withstanding-”
"That was a fluke and you fucking know it!"
"Prove it."
He said it before his brain even had a chance to consider the implications of the proposition.
John stood shocked for a moment. "I...What?"
Arthur looks up and meets his gaze dead in the eyes, a sly smirk spreading across his face. This might be a terrible idea, it is after all raining like hell outside, but he'd be lying to himself if he said it didn't sound like *fun*.
"I said, prove it."
Or, Arthur suggests a game of cat and mouse around Arkham to keep the two of them on their toes after being separated. John eagerly takes him up on the offer.

Summary
As long as he’s known Arthur – as long as he’s hated and tolerated and liked and loved him – John has wanted his own body. An identity all his own. When he and Arthur find a way to make it happen, it should be perfect. It needs to be perfect. But Arthur still can’t see, and John makes some unfortunate discoveries about his new body, and they’re both having a hell of a time of it. They aren’t alone, but it’s hard to remember that when you don’t share the same moral frame anymore. Hard, but not impossible.
