Summary
It's easy, Wemmbu thinks, to forget about this misery when there's someone else with him. The room is only illuminated by a lapping flame from a lantern he had the forethought to craft before coming back, leaving the room drenched in shadow and Jaden's expression ever the more difficult to see. He looks softer without his mask, all smug and pleased with his undivided attention on Wemmbu in a way that makes him squirm.
or: Wemmbu really, really does not love how empty his new home is. Jaden is there to fill it.

Summary
After a long, emotionally taxing few days in the Mist, Flame and Lomedy are home again. Safe and sound.
And, well, Flame did promise Lomedy they'd do something he wanted to do soon. He kind of owes it to him, no?
Except it's all gone wrong because Flame is stupid and can't forgive himself for anything ever and he still hasn't actually processed the death-turned-not-death of his best friend and also he's Flame so he's shite at communicating or even just, like, recognising his own feelings.

And—maybe it’s not E’s brightest idea, okay? But he needs an ally, at least temporarily. Someone that isn’t a quickdrop is a bonus. And revived players come back with just three hearts. That’d mean that E would hold the advantage in all sorts of ways—not only would they owe him one for reviving them in the first place, but they’d also be a quickdrop if they decided to try and betray. And…it could be kind of a fun project to help a three-heart player get all the way back up to ten or, hell, even twenty. It’d be a bit like what Pentar did for him last season.
He doesn’t know why Mane banned himself. Or if Mane will forgive him for dragging him back to this world with no warning. But if this works how E hopes it might, this could be the beginning of a beautiful partnership.- Language:

He knew all the songs by heart and he would mumble-sing them to himself all the time, even when he was supposed to be quiet, like at his grandfather’s funeral. When his fifth Halloween came around, he wanted to dress as Ariel, and though his father had warned him against it, Miles had thrown a fit until he was dressed up in green and purple sequins, and his father had carted him around the neighborhood in a red wagon that they don’t have anymore. Miles does not remember this, but when Hobie laughs at the picture, his heart aches.
