Summary
As a broke young adult, Phainon was slowly going insane filing job applications. With each rejection or ignored application on his end, he knew he was running out of time to find some way to pay his bills. His roommate and parents couldn't cover for him forever. In the midst of his desperation, his close friend Castorice gives him another option - becoming a sugar baby. Desperation and trust in his friends leads Phainon to join the strange app that Castorice mentions to him and eventually, right as he's about to give up on the app, it leads him to Mydei.
Being paid to just exist wasn't what Phainon had expected when he met Mydei. It did give him a good excuse to ask his unfairly attractive sugar daddy out on dates though.

Yes, they went to eat together, what's wrong with that? Two rivals can still enjoy a good meal in silence, ignoring (not really) each other's presence. And yes, Phainon may have laughed so hard that they received curious looks from the various customers in the establishment, but if you had heard the stories of Mydei and his droma, you would have laughed too!
So, as Phainon was saying, he and Mydei didn't get along, it just wasn't possible.
Because if not, how would he explain the situation he was currently in?
Or
Phainon bites off more than he can chew by proposing a certain reward to the winner of a competition between himself and Mydeimos.
