“I’m a businessman, Mr. Keene,” Silver says, with deadly calm. “I don’t take kindly to threats. If you want to make a deal, you have to have something I want.”
He knows, because he’s known all along. Robby thinks of: the mats, the old dojo, Kreese and Silver betting on them like dogs. Silver had known exactly what it would take to beat Robby. He’d said, everyone has a weakness. His is out there in the open, doing warm-ups downstairs.
“I’ll stay.” He hears himself say it as if from a distance. “If Kenny goes, I’ll stay in Cobra Kai.”

The kid doesn’t flinch, but the muscle in his jaw twitches. “I’m going,” he says, instead of responding, and starts to back away from the counter with his hands in the air. “No cops, okay?”
Nestor should let him leave. If he’s lucky the kid won’t ever come back. He’ll get to keep his inventory, maintain his reputation as someone not to screw with, and not get involved with some street kid with a violent streak and probably a whole slew of parental issues. He knows all the adages about feeding strays.
But—
“Hang on a sec,” he says, against all better judgement. “You want something with a little more substance?”
