“What?” Mu Qing whispered.
“If you don’t like your gift, I’ll let you shave my head.” He repeated.
Mu Qing’s eyes narrowed and he glanced at the box on the table.
“Are you serious?” He finally said.
“Eyebrows and all. I’ll let you fucking shave me.”
“I really hope you hate the gift.” Hua Cheng oh-so-kindly chirped.

It's Feng Xin's first official year as Mu Qing's boyfriend and he's determined to get his boyfriend the perfect gift for his birthday. After looking for some advice from Xie Lian, Feng Xin determines that a cat is the ideal gift. The only problem is, he's never interacted with a cat before and he's running out of time to make Mu Qing happy.

“I’ll prepare a bath.” Xie Lian caught his arm and shook his head.
“No, San Lang. I meant–ah…” He bowed his head to tame the blush creeping across his face.

After spending most of the afternoon pacing deep in thought, Xie Lian finally declares he wishes to redo their first kiss. Hua Cheng certainly isn't opposed to kissing when his husband demands it, but he wonders why he wants a repeat of that kiss.

Unless the Heavens wanted to see a battle that split the skies, Mu Qing and Feng Xin kept strictly to either side of their respective territories. It had been this way since the moment they ascended. That’s probably why Mu Qing’s eyes nearly bulged out of their head when he saw Feng Xin casually speed walking through the Southwest like it was a shortcut to one of his temples.

Mu Qing catches Feng Xin crossing over into his border with the claim that the new calamity, Hua Cheng, is stalking him. Mu Qing doesn't know which makes him angrier, Feng Xin's blatant disrespect of boundaries, or the audacious lies he's willing to tell to cross them.
