Summary
It's not III's job to explain the physiology to the families. Sometimes, the families don't even know why III is there. But as they cry and say the things they wished to say before their loved one had died, III is present, passing on the messages, and sometimes, passing some back.
Just one more word. One more I love you. III ignores the requests if they're not centered in love. They aren't being paid pennies to ask the recently departed to uncover the families secrets - they are there to soothe and support the transition. They're there to speak when the brain and body is holding on but the soul has decoupled from the physical. He holds their hands or their bodies close in the spirit realm, watching light come back to their eyes when they realize that it doesn't hurt anymore.
There is no such thing as pain in the spirit realm. It's a mortal concept. III stays as long as they need. And when they are ready, if they are ready, they lead the soul into the gentle hands of Death's reapers.

Summary
Sometimes, it's peaceful between ferries. Usually during the off-season. So anytime that's not summer or Christmas or any long weekend or holidays. It's never off-season during the summer. If people aren't coming for the ferry, they're coming to visit their own boat that lives at the docks that surround the terminal. There's multiple yacht clubs just around the corner. A golf course. Hiking and mountain biking and lakes and the town of Arcadia Bay is exit zero on the highway. Further up are the mountains filled with even more activities and tourist traps and it seems like too many people find themselves in Arcadia Bay before making the trek up.
The circus isn't going to help.

Summary
II looks up from his phone and narrows his eyes at Vessel and IV on the other side of the couch, sensing mischief. They've been like that all afternoon, huddled close and exchanging looks and whispered talk. It's almost cute, except II knows that something is up. Something has been up for the past couple of days. Both Vessel and IV avert their eyes when they realize that II has been looking directly at them the entire time.
Alright. They can keep their secrets.

What do you want from me?
‘Let the tides carry you back to me,’ It croons. ‘Two. Bear the weight of two.’
It takes several weeks — sleepless nights coupled with the insistent noise of water in his head to bang it out on his drum kit — before he realizes that he’s the second of his title.
Where is the First?
Sleep seeks out the second, the third, the fourth, and the choir. The first is missing. And It doesn't want to reveal why.Or: A story of grieving someone you've never met (yet), but miss nonetheless.

Summary
At the top is a door painted deep green, scuffed at the bottom from years of shoes catching on the bottom rail. He knocks once. Then again when a full minute goes by with no answer. He raises his fist to do it a third time, only to nearly deck the poor sap on the other side when the door finally swings open without warning.
“You’re early,” the person says bluntly — sharp-eyed, bleach-blond, in a button down black tunic with sleeves rolled to the elbow, gold embroidery bunching at the hems and collar. They lean against the doorframe, one pierced brow arched. “Or are you punctual? Time’s weird. Social formalities are weird. You are II, right?”
II inclines his head to look them in the eyes, his nose scrunching against the sunlight now in his face. “Apparently I am, since you knew when my appointment was already. And I’m only ten minutes early.”
