Kaveh’s hands move to cover his face, palms muffling his words as he mutters, “It’s—not quite like that.”
“Well, the ‘sick’ aspect is accurate, at least.”
“No shit,” Kaveh snorts. “The ‘love’ component, though—it’s, uh—”
“You’re not in love?”
He coughs. “The greenhouse in my lungs begs to differ. I—it’s more that my body is mourning a love it knows can’t ever be requited.”
For all the negative feelings Alhaitham’s encountered over the past twelve hours, the sensation that creeps through him now is…
Unfamiliar.
Unknowable.
Despite all the languages he’s fluent in, Alhaitham is unable to conjure a word or phrase with which he can immediately label it. He just knows that whatever this feeling is, it’s unbelievably unpleasant. Like his body is stationary, yet his internal organs are plummeting into the Abyss.
“You love someone who doesn’t love you back?” he asks after a moment.
Kaveh has Hanahaki. That much is known. But who he loves, and whether Alhaitham will be able to save him, is up in the air.

Summary
Alarm overtook Kaveh’s expression as he looked back and forth between Alhaitham and the matra, dropping his sketchpad and leaping to his feet. “Why is there a guard here? Did you get hurt?”
“Some idiot decided poisoning me to obtain state secrets would be an optimal use of a Tuesday morning,” Alhaitham replied with a deep sigh.
Kaveh’s hands hovered uselessly in the air for a few moments as he stared at Alhaitham. “I’m sorry, what?”
Leaning back against the wall, Alhaitham let out a weary exhale. “Truth serum,” he said tiredly, raking his fingers through his hair then dropping his hand down to rub his throat. “I can’t lie.”
Kaveh’s eyes widened. “Oh my gods. Are you - are you okay?” Hurrying forward, Kaveh - with his blessedly fully covered legs - guided Alhaitham onto the divan, hands steady despite the panic in his voice.
“I don’t know. I’m just glad you’re wearing pants,” was all Alhaitham managed to answer.

For a long moment, he looked back at Lumine with a sense of passivity lingering on his face as he continued not to speak. As his mouth opened, there was a certain glint in his eyes, a ghost of what was once ferity.
Bitter, it almost seemed bitter in a way. His gaze trained back on the traveler; there was no denying the way it was harshly cold around the edges, not at her, but clearly at a certain notion that her question had brought up.
“Well, I’d simply learn how to swim.”
OR
Ever since the death of his grandmother, Alhaitham has lived his life alone and has grown comfortable being stuck within his own independency. There was no need for anyone else's interference after all, if he couldn't help himself, then no one else could either. A genetic disease abruptly turning his life upside down, he struggles with its new tolls to his independence and the looming dread that came with the thought of having to rely on another.

Summary

It takes three days of meditation,a ridiculous amount of chakra, a giant seal, and a Tailed beast for a life line, but they are finally ready. In perfect sequence and harmony they run through a two hundred hand sign sequence.
It works. Hinata wakes up in her childhood bedroom. Naruto wakes up in his old apartment. One issue. They are five. Not the fifteen they were aiming for. Now this couple must navigate the world of their childhood and try to save it. All while trying to keep Hiashi and the Hokage in the dark. What can go wrong? Answer? Everything.

Summary
When he wanted or needed to Gai could be extremely subtle. He could even be sneaky. This was a big contrast to his very flamboyant and boisterous personality. This other side of the taijutsu master was always apparent when it was in regards to his rival- his happiness in particular. He knew his friend deserved the type of love and support that only a beloved could provide. Kakashi began to linger a little longer in the mission’s room, mainly during a particular shift. Gai would observe his friend’s eye linger on the man a tad bit longer than usual or turn away when the other looked his way. Gai decided he would tackle this potential opportunity.
