Summary
Wei Wuxian is slow, these months, a pitiful grower. It is difficult to learn how to be soft; it feels too much like growing sharper. To not keep secrets is to narrate terrible stories that causes guilt and fear in those around him. To not grin and work his way through the aches by himself is to be unable to get out of bed and to snap because it fucking hurts when his husband asks him why. Is that who he is, when he doesn’t strive to be easy?
He feels chilled by the realization, shoved face first into ice-melt water. As if the dirt-stained dagger sliding in beneath his ribs was the pulled thread, starting the rapid unraveling of the tapestry of his domestic dreams.
