Adam’s eyes widened as they darted back to the bar. Sure enough, the mystery exorcist that Vaggie had been talking to was now fully facing the stage, eyes frantically peering through the crowd and - oh, holy shit.
Lute held in her hand the universal vessel of a good time: a red, plastic party cup.
“No fucking way,” he muttered, grinning maniacally.
Lute didn’t drink. At least, not outside the comfort of her own home to the best of his knowledge. Now, this he had to see.

At the post-Extermination Day party, Lute decides she's had enough of watching Adam get drunk and make a fool of himself year after year while she watches on, sober as a judge. She decides it's her turn to have a little fun of her own, but soon realises that her drunken antics come with their own set of consequences that can't be ignored.
OR;
Lute gets drunk, Adam tries to be responsible and all Vaggie wants to do is be a good friend.

Adam needs a roommate. So, he does what any normal guy in his mid-thirties would do: asks ChatGPT to generate the perfect ad so he can find one.
When Lute comes across an ad for a roommate that sounds too good to be true, she figures it probably is. But, she's not in a position to turn down a potentially great opportunity, so she applies. To her surprise (and without any sort of screening whatsoever), she's accepted right away.
What could possibly go wrong?
