Hawks closes his eyes as someone approaches to pull the lever that will release the huge blade eagerly awaiting to taste his neck. Yeah he was dumb enough to come on land without backup in the first place. Yeah he was stupid enough to get caught. Yeah Rumi is going to be so pissed when he doesn’t come back and leaves her with a ship to run. He really does not want to die, but hey, who does?
“WAIT!” Hawks cracks an eye open, curious at the lovely voice entering the scene. Then his other eye follows. Both are needed to take in this beauty of a man. Silky white hair spikes around his head, a slim waist is enhanced by the navy waistcoat draping along his form, and his eyes… Hawks has never seen eyes that look that similar to the ocean before. Gorgeous. Not a bad last image to see before his head rolls.
“He’s innocent,” the beauty declares. “I have proof! Stop this execution at once!”

Fire Lord Zuko has known a lot of stress throughout his life. Being banished, traveling the world under constant attack, fighting a war, and then working to earn the respect of his rightfully placed title of Fire Lord.
Maybe it adds to his stress a bit when he has a thing for a man that he certainly shouldn't.
