Summary
During an undercover task as a Muggle Prime Minister's secretarial team staff member, Harry Potter meets Mycroft Holmes, and they somehow slip into a brief, unspoken entanglement. Not quite a romance, not entirely nothing. Just something... The undercover job ends, and months pass. Then the man shows up at Grimmauld Place, looking exactly as Harry remembers: composed to the point of arrogance, with that ever-watchful gaze that misses absolutely nothing.
“I’m living in a world of goldfish,” Mycroft says dryly. Then, as if on second thought, he looks at Harry and something flickers in his eyes. “But,” he adds, “you’re quite an interesting goldfish.”
“Charming,” Harry says flatly. “So I’m more interesting than the average fish. That’s reassuring.”

“What?” Evan asks.
“Mm, just thinking,” Tommy says, looking over at him with a smile. “About you.”
Evan flushes and ducks his head as he smiles just before he glances back at Tommy. The sun is sitting low on the horizon, and he's bathed in a wash of gold. It's a sight Tommy wants to remember forever. He wants to be an old man and remember the beauty of Evan Buckley in the setting sun on the streets of Rome.

Summary
This started out as a single fic by the same title, but when I went to finish it, I still had more I wanted to tell. Instead of just posting an epilogue like I originally planned I will be making this a series. All of the fics I post in this will be shorter fics and oneshots that can hopefully be read as standalone fics, but will still be a continuation of the original 16 chapters I wrote.
For those finding this from a fic outside of the original one, this is a universe where after the breakup, Tommy responds to an accident where Connor and Kameron were DOA. The original fic goes through the process of Buck and Tommy getting back together and Buck adopting Liam, his biological son, after Connor's parents gave him up. Canon compliant through season 8a.

Today wasn’t supposed to be like this.
He wasn’t supposed to be here, in the middle of a forest, staring up at the sky, knowing that the smell of smoke would soon reach them. He was supposed to be home, curled up on the couch, watching a documentary while Tommy read, and he was supposed to ask him.
Instead, he was stuck on the ground and had just seen Tommy’s helicopter go down.
