“Oh, he’s not dead.” Amanda waved away her concerns.
“Uh, yeah, people don’t come back from bullets to the face.”
“Some people do.” Stefano said as he came back from wherever he’d gone with his rapier slung over his shoulder. “Some people don’t go down all that easily.” He glared at Amanda. “And some of those people love to drag trouble behind them wherever they go.”

Summary
Thirty-eight-year-old Eddie Munson lives in a small room behind the local church, playing piano and guitar for the children's choir in exchange for rent. He isn't a believer, but as long as he has a place to stay, he’s happy to let them think otherwise.

It's fall 1984, post-S2. Steve Harrington has no pack, no girlfriend, and he just got benched from basketball and swim because of a concussion he can't seem to shake. His PE Classes get replaced with a co-op, and the people he meets there lead him down a path of self-discovery and self-acceptance that inspires him to rebuild his relationships with some old friends.

Eddie is trying to do right by Steve - he needs to ask permission to court him, Steve deserves that. But how is he supposed to make himself - three-time senior, drug dealing, town-hated freak of an Alpha - seem respectable to Steve's father? What could he say to make himself - oh shit, Richard Harrington has been watching his meltdown this whole time.
