Dongfang Qingcang was trembling. Xiao Lanhua could feel the tremors running through his body, could hear his breath hitching as his muscles twitched and spasmed. Shangque was bearing most of his lord’s weight, his broad arm wrapped firmly around Dongfang Qingcang’s shoulders, holding him upright as he stumbled. The skin of Dongfang Qingcang’s bare arm felt cold and clammy under Xiao Lanhua’s hands.
