Shin buried her head in her hands, replaying the moment Ketsu passed her. She heard Baylan’s voice in her head, Unforced errors and avoidable mistakes, Shin. You could have had that. You should have-
A voice next to her snapped her out of the memory.
“Hey,” Sabine smiled, holding up Shin’s sunflower bracelet. “Thought you might want this?”
Shin managed to smile back, grabbing the bracelet and slipping it on her wrist. “Thanks.”
“You shouldn’t beat yourself up,” Sabine sat down next to her. “It was a late safety car. Sometimes you don’t lose a race because you lost it. Sometimes you just lose because shit happens.”
“I could’ve held the line better,” Shin muttered.
“Hey,” Sabine lifted Shin’s chin up, forcing the driver to look at her. “I watched the replay four times. The outside was rubbered in enough that if you didn’t cover it she would’ve gone around there. She had fresh tires, nothing you could’ve done.”

Summary

Summary
Imagine your OTP met when they were pretty young. When they were about ten years old, person A asks person B if they want to be person A’s girlfriend/boyfriend (because they’re little kids and that’s what little kids do). B says yes, and they start ‘dating’: lots of hugging, quick kisses on the cheek and hand-holding that comes with furious blushing. For whatever reason, the two never break up. Instead, their 'relationship’ gradually develops into a real one as they realize that they have legitimate feelings for one another, that they’ve gone and fallen in love.
Bonus: their friends tease them about being the only couple they know that’s been together since elementary school.(Didn't follow the prompt exactly, but I tried)
