Summary
Rowan is a 27-year-old bartender. He fell into the job when he left his small-town home because of close minded people. He likes his job and the people he works with.
Damion, known as Dee to some, has never had good luck in life. Kicked out and disowned by his parents when he was 15, he fell into a bad relationship. Time and again he thinks he has his life on track when the person he is with turns out to be another sadistic asshole who likes to hit people. It's gotten to be so common that Damion just assumes he deserves it.
Their lives collide when Damion, 25, stumbles into the bar where Rowan works, broken and battered after having escaped his most violent ex yet. Something about this place feels safe, enough so that Dee finally is able to sleep surrounded by strangers. Rowan on the other hand is captivated by the young man who just walked into his bar. He feels compelled to help this man, unsure why. Dee, for his part is unsure as well but finds himself wanting to let Rowan.
