Summary
Aang is 19, and has been fighting the Fire Nation for almost four years alongside his friends. Now that Ba Sing Se has been re-taken by rebel forces, he cannot put off finding a firebending teacher any longer. According to his vision in the foggy swamp, his teacher is the crowned heir to the Fire Nation. With Azula out of the question, Aang travels west, into the heart of the Fire Nation itself, where he has heard word that the prince who was thought of as dead was not only alive, but leading a resistance movement against the Fire Nation. He hoped that the prince would help him become a fully realised Avatar, become his ally, and even his friend. But neither of them could have predicted how very similar they really were.

Neil nods distractedly, still processing Andrew’s words, turning them over in his mind as if he looks at them from a different angle, they’ll make sense. Like if he stares at them long enough, they’ll snap into place with the rest of Neil’s life.
“What did you mean when you said you’re a girl?”
“Just that. I’m a girl.” The words have never tasted less true. And they never particularly did to begin with. “I’ve been pretending to be a guy for…reasons.”
Neil joins some language clubs, makes some friends, and learns that being trans is an option.
