    The thing is, when Anakin figures it out, is that it all obviously has been there, if he’d only cared to look for it.

    And, admittedly, he is angry. Mostly at himself, which isn’t something that happens very often, so it’s an especially harrowing realization.

    All these years, he thinks, I’ve been so blind. I was so busy ignoring everything I didn’t want to think about and blaming everyone else for things not under their control that I didn’t stop to look at the bigger picture.

    He sighs and leans back in his chair to gaze at the ceiling.

    If only, he laments, true remorse coloring his thoughts, I had started watching period holodramas earlier.

    OR, how Plo Koon watching and subsequently introducing Ahsoka to Star Wars’ version of Downton Abbey changes Anakin's life path like nothing else could.

    Anakin threw himself against the bathroom door with all his might. The wood cracked in protest the first time, but it held up. The second time it gave way a little, and the third time Anakin broke through. But although he had expected a lot, he had still not been prepared for the sight that awaited him.

    "Obi-Wan!"

    The Jedi Master was lying on the ground, eyes closed, body tipped limply forward, and around him were several empty pill boxes. Obi-Wan was known to dislike the Halls of healing, which is why he always kept enough medicine in his stash to treat most ailments himself. But this time he had apparently not only taken one pill, but stuffed all the existing ones into himself.
