Peter was returning from yet another patrol. In recent days, it was the only thing that kept him minimally distracted—swinging between buildings, confronting petty criminals, pretending it still made a difference. The rest of his life was a complete disaster. Gwen had chosen to stay with Harry. Liz didn't want to see him even if he showed up covered in gold.
