Summary
Cloud has been playing Cat-and-Mouse with Genesis for a while now. After all, they are supposed to be packmates, as appointed by the Goddess. But Cloud isn’t interested in his destined packmates anymore, especially not after Angeal’s betrayal of Zack, Zack’s death, and Sephiroth’s betrayal of everyone. Genesis is never going to win the game he insists on playing.
So when Cloud wakes up in the past, he knows exactly what to do. His pack doesn’t deserve a second chance, but a lot of other people do.
Genesis, meanwhile, only petitioned the Goddess to remedy his own mistakes. He didn't mean to take his surviving packmate along with him, but he won't object either. Cloud never believed his sincerity, but surely he will now that everyone has been given a second chance... right?
Catch me if you can.

Summary
As long as Cloud remains, Sephiroth will always return. Their existences entwined, their souls calling out to the other. To break the bond, Gaia takes action and Cloud leaves his world for the promise of another. A world where the tragic events of Niblehiem differ. A world where he was the one to fall under Calamity’s grasp, leaving his pack behind.

prepare me for the skeleton war (scavenge me new bones) by ashatasha
Fandom Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII

Summary
Cloud has a terrible skeleton: it cracks every 3 minutes, sometimes a kneecap slips to the side, maybe a dislocated shoulder every now and then. It's not that big of a deal, and he makes it into the SOLDIER cadet program alright. Even when he fails, nobody notices it in the infantry either. It's only after a few alright years of service someone notes that "hey, that kid's joints suck ass!" and gets Cloud discharged.
Then, of course, is picking his life back up and figuring out that giving too many shits takes up too much damn energy. Best save them for special occasions, and use sparingly. He gets the hang of repairs, accidentally kills a dragon with two wrenches and a customer's sword, and settles.
Settling did not include any ShinRa employees bursting back into his life, but plans change, right?
