Summary
It is often said that the Targaryens are the blood of the dragon, but the Maesters forgot to mention that dragons come in two very different varieties.
On one side, there is Prince Baelor who thrives in the Dornish heat like a lizard on a rock but turns into a shivering, ball of fur the second he crosses the Neck. On the other side is Prince Maekar, who can march through a Northern blizzard in a linen shirt but nearly spontaneously combusts if the sun shines too brightly in Sunspear.

Summary
There's the very brief touch of a hand on his shoulder, and then the King settles down onto his chair, crown on his head and stiff as a fucking board. Gone the slouch – he likes to criticise Maekar for slouching in chairs as if he himself isn't just as bad – and the sevendamned twiddling of his fucking rings, and the perpetual half-smile he normally wears, and Maekar'd have more sympathy if he hadn't explicitly told Baelor not to attend.
Maekar has had it, with his fucking brother and the fucking hedge knight and especially with the great fucking importance of it all.

Summary
In another version of this story, in some far and distant world, it is Baelor “Breakspear”, Heir to the Iron Throne, who takes his brother Maekar’s mace to the back of the head during the Trial of Seven. It is on a grimy, hay-covered stone and dirt floor that he falls into the arms of the newly named Ser Duncan the Tall and takes his last breath. In that distant world, the Targaryen family falls to ruin in the aftermath of his passing, and not even the fabled Prince that Was Promised can reclaim the might of their family name.
But that world is not this one.
For instead of the Prince of Dragonstone receiving a sundering blow to the helm, it is Aerion “Brightflame” who suffers the wound instead.
