Only once the wraps were secure did Bruce step forward.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Like he was approaching something hurt enough that the wrong movement might send it bolting.
Tim stiffened instinctively.
Damian noticed.
Of course he did.
Bruce noticed that Damian noticed.
That realization visibly hurt.
For a moment Bruce simply looked at them.
His sons.
Bruised.
Exhausted.
Trying much too hard to hold themselves together.
Then he crouched so he was eye level with them.
“I owe both of you an apology.”
Or
Tim is used to hiding any and all injuries, while also not taking care of himself in any way.
Damian can read Tim more closely than anyone else, and what he sees scares him.
Bruce wants to be better.

Summary
Tim is really not okay. He’s pulled away from his family and is trudging through his days in a way that is far from healthy. He knows he needs help, knows where the road he’s going down leads, but he so incredibly tired. He doesn’t know if he can go on, and can’t pull himself out of the deep end.
Somehow, through his depression, he’s still patrolling, and one night a case catches him off guard completely. It rattles him so thoroughly that it’s all he can think about. It’s a wake up call. He can’t go on like this.

ORTim is severely depressed and more the slightly suicidal. After responding to a suicide case on patrol that hit too close to home, he forces himself to reach out.

Summary
Bruce had spent the last month and a half creating some sort of truth serum to help interrogate criminals. Tim has helped him on the most part of it, he knew how everything worked and everything about the effects it had, that’s why he was so sure they would test it out tonight.
He just wasn’t expecting the serum to be tested out on him.
Or the story which Tim is under a truth serum influence and spills his guts out in a long trauma dumping monologue

Sometimes the cave was a bit colder than usual. Like when Bruce and Dick fought, when Damian cried, or like this night when Tim was alone at work, quiet and hyped up on the thrill of the case. His lips a bit sticky from what had to have been his 11th Pepsi of the night, maybe even 12th if he cared to count.; it just would’ve been hard with this skull crushing migraine of his. The boy liked to pretend the computers big bright screen wasn’t a contender to his suffering, all while having zero intention to take a break.
