Summary
Hunter Noceda-Deamonne was eagerly looking forward to the next chapter of his life. He has a loving girlfriend, a supportive trio of foster parents, and the best group of friends he could ever ask for. His apprenticeship as a palisman carver was coming to a temporary hiatus in order to make time for his upcoming enrollment in the University of Wild Magic. He couldn't be more excited.
But then, seemingly out of nowhere, a group known as the New Emperor's Coven makes itself known, aiming to tear down everything that makes Hunter's life worth living. And as he joins his friends and family in the effort to stop them, he is confronted with a face he thought he'd never see again outside of his flashbacks.
Can Hunter overcome his reawakened trauma and stop the New Emperor's Coven? Or will history repeat itself?

“Rumi, we know you’re queer as shit, if that’s what you’re worried about-” Mira interjected dryly, trying to lighten the mood the only way she knew how.
“W-what?”
“We don’t mind,” Zoey stepped in, ever so sweet and helpful, “It would be rather hypocritical of us, really.”
“What? No.” Rumi said quickly, head thrown for a loop. She shook her head, trying to come to terms with the implications of their words, and scrambling to take control of the conversation again. “I mean, yes.” She let out a panicked little laugh. “Okay. I guess that’s sorted, but that’s not it.”
“Well then what has you so worked up? Unless you’re dying, or secretly a demon-” Mira started up again, but she stopped short at the sight of Rumi’s full body cringe.
“I wish you didn’t say that.” Rumi said in a small, vulnerable voice to fill the sudden, sharp silence.Or:

Zoey leaned into the touch, drawing warmth from it.
"They're hiding something," she said, voice tiny and scared. "Rumi wants to tell us. Celine doesn't. Promise not to say or do anything until I like, explain everything I heard?"
Mira blinked, "That bad? Okay. I promise."
