You’ve heard of Heated Rivalry, now get ready for Pathetic Rivalry! In which Spock and Jim are two horny lowerdeckers who start hating each other because of a misunderstanding (and also probably the lack of things to do caused by Starfleet-mandated humane working conditions). Being in a throuple with Jim’s parents doesn’t save Pike from getting gray hair. Being my favourite character doesn’t save Nyota from getting involved in S’chn T’gai family bullshit. Strap in for Jim and Spock’s inability to communicate as grown adults cockblocking them for approximately 30k words.

Premise 2: Traveling to T’Pring on Vulcan would require breaking Priority One orders of Enterprise heading to Altair IV.
Premise 3: Following the rules is one of the most important principles that Spock lives by.
Conclusion: The logical course of action is to go to the Captain’s quarters and explain to him why Starfleet Regulations not only condone but encourage having sex in certain situations, and why the two of them should do so post-haste. -

An exploration of how Teddy and Jonathan relate to themselves and to each other, mediated through their differing approaches to grief and the hard task of living. It’s a hopeful ending for them!
