I am facing the compartment of the driver’s seat. I am folded like a paper airplane, but I can still feel my legs. I can hear the car siren beeping. Shouting in the distance. I hear my own heavy breath. I see shards of glass glittering on the floor. I see blood slightly, few drops no different from sweat.
I recall the blaring horn before this. And I recall the impact.

Andrew no longer feared him when they looked in the eyes. He had been defiant earlier, but now he simply no longer cared. That was the real indicator.
He wasn’t sure what he had been expecting. An outburst of some sort, directed at him most likely. But instead Fletcher knew that what he was witnessing right now, would be the most important moment of his entire life.

Summary
The thing sitting in the third row was not a human despite its outer skin mimicking that of one. Denji could tell this the moment he stepped through the door. The thing sitting in the third row moved even while it was sitting. It spoke even when it wasn’t. Its entire being deteriorated and was birthed again, it died and came back to life and all the steps between that. Denji could not bring himself to properly look at it. Looking at it felt as though he would look directly at the sun. Or some other great large thing he couldn’t truly comprehend.
“Sit with me.”

She sighed. But her cheerful tone didn’t disappear.
“Since we’re starting anew and all, I thought about it and decided to enroll you in the local school.”

It’s a girl, he thinks.
He’s only seen girls in magazines, with perfect bodies and gorgeous hair. This girl isn’t like them. Her eyes are wild with a feral look in them. Her hair is tangled with clumps of dirt clinging onto it, and she has chainsaws sticking out of her body. Which Denji was sure normal girls didn’t have.
