Aster sighed, putting a hand to his head. He had gotten an answer, he now knew what was so dangerous about this phenomenon. Even if he could never be allowed to look at it, he should’ve been satisfied due to the circumstances.
But it only opened up thousands of new questions.
What determines the severity of the mutations? Does one need to view it directly? Is acknowledgement of the entity required for the effects to take hold? How do mutations vary? Are they truly random, or is there a pattern?
Even if he had a rough start with the group, he planned to stay with the astronomers. He needed to stay. He needed to find answers, even if it destroyed him.
Curiosity filled every cell of his body, and Aster planned to satiate it by any means necessary.

Doing it out of fear and obliviousness, only to find out what he'd done later. Even if you'd revive (and you're pretty certain you would), he'd never be able to live with himself. "Remind me what the word for "harmless" is."
Roxy smirks, huffing out of their nose and looking up at you through pink, heart-rimmed shades. "Pfft. 'Fraid not. Alternians don't have a concept of a total non-threat."

Dirk Strider is NOT someone that should be left to raise his little brother but after his bro is murdered that's what he has to do.
Roxy Lalonde is also not someone that should be left to raise her little sister but alcoholism be damned she will...make a drunken attempt.
Maybe working together will help? no probably not but they'll still move cross country and pretend to not be a group of minors living without an adult.
What could go wrong? Other than social services being called on them...right...probably be best to avoid that.
Well hey at least they're not alone in this endeavor.au where I have fused the guardians from different timelines into their own characters, but they're dead so it only matters in passing.
