Summary
This takes place during season 3 06, "Household." June has asked Nick Blaine to work with the Swiss government, giving them information about the Gilead power structure to ensure his daughter Nichole's safety in Canada. Next thing we know, the Swiss have said no to Nick and inform June "he's not who you think he is." So what does he tell them that screws this up so badly?

I'm Nick Blaine and I know I'm far from perfect. I've done horrible things to innocent people, and there's nothing I wouldn't do for June. When I ask her to run away with me (again), I don't even expect her to say yes anymore. We've been kept apart by the system for far too long. But she does. She says yes. I'm looking forward to the happy part of my life.
I'm June Osborn, I was known as Offred and Ofjoseph, but not anymore. I know I've lead the past years of my life in fear and basic survival mode. All I know is I've always loved Nick and I always feel better when he's around. He makes me feel safe and loved more than anyone ever has. So yes, I finally agreed to leaving Gilead, Canada, Alaska, all of it behind for us to start new. In Paris.

I’m writing June’s recovery as nonlinear and often uncomfortable, and the people around her—Nick, Luke, Theo, Rita—are meant to complicate that process rather than solve it. Love here doesn’t erase damage. Safety doesn’t arrive all at once. Some answers take a long time to surface, and some never fully do.
Nick’s presence in this story is intentional in its restraint. His absence matters as much as his eventual arrival, and when he does appear, it won’t be as a cure or a reward. Choices will stay messy. Feelings will overlap. Growth won’t always look like progress.

Summary
Set after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5.
After the attack that nearly cost June her life, she flees Toronto with her daughter, Nichole. The original plan is to take a train to Vancouver and then fly to Hawaii, but the fear of being separated from her family again overwhelms her, and she ends up staying in Vancouver—until, months later, something pulls her back to Toronto.
There, things seem calmer—or at least that’s how it appears—and she manages to rebuild a somewhat normal life with Luke and Nichole.
