Summary
Over the course of a few weeks, the Foxes get a front row seat to witness the obliviousness that is Neil Josten. So, in true Fox fashion, they decided to make a bet on whether or not he’d be able to tell if Andrew, his own not-boyfriend, was flirting with him as well.
Andrew didn’t like making bets, and especially not on Neil. However, that didn’t mean his own intrigue and curiously didn’t prevent him from testing out this little theory of theirs.OR
5 times Neil is oblivious to other people flirting with him, and the 1 time it was Andrew.

Summary
Neil Josten has spent his whole life running—from his father, from his name, from the moment he knows is coming. Figure skating was supposed to be a way to exist without hiding. Instead, it got him disqualified, erased, and left sleeping in a storage closet.
Andrew Minyard doesn't skate for joy. He skates for money and because Kevin Day showed up at his rink one night with a broken hand and nowhere else to go. Touch is not an option. Trust is not a word in his vocabulary.
They're forced to skate together anyway.
Now they have one year to qualify for the Olympics. One year to learn lifts and spins and the impossible art of being seen. One year before Neil's past catches up and takes everything.
But Andrew keeps looking at him like he's worth staying for. And Neil keeps thinking that maybe—just maybe—somewhere in the arc of Andrew's blade, he's finally found someplace he doesn't have to run from.

Summary
“The first three were all former foster parents of Andrew.” Piggins continued, unable to take a hint from the frosty office he’d admitted these things too.
“No.” Aaron panicked, staring at Andrew in disbelief. “Andrew has never been…!”
Wymack shifted his weight on the filing cabinet, reaching down to grab his trash can and passing it across Andrew in time for Aaron to grab it and spew a cascade of vile liquid into it, while Andrew pushed his chair onto its back legs and avoided all eye contact with those in the cramped office.
Andrew knew who did this.
The only person who had ever willingly gone to bat for him. A person he had mistakenly believed to be dead long ago; this was proof to the contrary. Except… Except that there was one name missing.

Summary
When Tilda sells their house in San Jose and drags twelve-year-old Aaron across the country in a secondhand RV, Florida is supposed to mean beaches. Instead, he gets a landlocked trailer park outside Tallahassee, a starving summer, and a hidden garden behind an “abandoned” mobile home that is not abandoned at all.
This is a slow-burning coming-of-age story about hunger, bad parents, gardens, and the very weird, very stubborn friendship that forms between Aaron and Neil long before Andrew ever walks into their lives.
Or: my self-indulgent fic to answer “what if Aaron met Neil first” because everyone writes it the other way around, and I think they are meant to be friends.

Summary
Andrew has spent so long trying to find something to continue for. Some people were almost it for him, almost a way out of the hell that was his mind, until they showed their true faces and left him bleeding on his own. He'd almost lost all hope. But when a little redheaded boy with scars and bright blue eyes watches him in their shared cell without a hint of fear, Andrew thinks he might be allowed to hope a little more.
Neil is sick of running. He's been doing it since he was a little kid; in the living room when his father was mad to on the beach with his mother by his side and a gun to both of their backs. When Mary died, he nearly tried to go with her. But when a blond boy with a chilling glare and honey eyes is thrown into his cell, Neil has a distinct feeling that he doesn't have to run anymore.

Summary
Long before Neil Josten arrived in the nowhere town of Millport, Arizona he was an exy prodigy with great potential and a girl. Now, he’s neither.
Neil Josten knows how to survive. What tree years on the road didn’t teach him, his mother showed him. After leaving her dead body on a beach on the West Coast, Neil has been on his own, protecting his three-year-old sister and himself from those that hunt them and struggling to make ends meet as a homeless teen.
When Coach Wymack shows up looking for a second striker sub for his exy team, the Palmetto Foxes, Neil is faced with a choice: keep on the path his mother trained him for or trust that exy can save him.
But signing for the Foxes proves messier than promised.Or:
A story where Neil is trans masc and a teen parent (not that he'll be very forthcoming about either of these things, this is Neil). Spoilers in the Tags!! If you want to experience this through Neil's usual shady POV skip the tags. Content warnings the same as the books.Bookmarked by Rock_withachanceofmeatballs
