Summary
Shane Hollander is a dedicated Theology student at the University of Toronto, set on joining the Jesuit order and becoming a Catholic priest. But when he makes a request to do an exchange semester to learn the basics of Orthodox Theology at the Russian Orthodox Seminary, his life is turned upside down in a matter of hours. On his first day he sees a young man in the chapel, on his knees, praying. “I do not want to play hockey much longer,” Ilya said quietly. “Maybe couple more seasons. And then I am done.”
Shane stared at him. “Done?”
“Yes.”
“With hockey. You’re serious?”
“Very,” Ilya said.
