    Bookmarker's Notes

I really like the pacing and the reversed continuity. The language draws you in, and the characterization of Nanoha and Fate is very thoughtful.

(A poor review by me. I'll update this at some point once I find better words.)

"You know humans don't live in this world anymore, Nee-chan. They only survive."
In what should have been a final battle, something went awry. Two warriors now drift through a dangerous world, battling a bleak reality to keep their grasp on a tenuous purpose. Their story of life after catastrophe, and rebellion against fate's design, unfolds here at the end of days.

Angst. Hope. Comfort. Arousal. Hurt. Despair. Bitterness. Acceptance. This story is by turns traumatic and uplifting. It captures the human experience in a way both beautiful and horrible. Beware the tags, but it must be experienced to be understood.

    Bookmarker's Notes

One of the most complete pure slash fics I've ever read and very well done. As someone who prefers at least plausibly realistic relationships from within the canon material, to find a slash fic that makes this so real and believable is a treat.

“You understand, Professor,” Harry began, after a moment, “that I don’t have my N.E.W.T.s. I never even finished seventh year. Between everything, I never had a chance the first time around, and then afterwards there didn’t seem to be much point. Hermione argued for it, of course, but I was so tired of Britain. So technically, I am completely unqualified for the position.”

“Quite a way to begin an interview, Mr. Potter,” McGonagall said, dryly.

Or, three years after the war, Harry Potter becomes Hogwarts' newest Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This. This is much more in line with what I think Harry would want, compared to the canon epilogue, where I felt he would be a pretty sad and pessimistic character to continue on the path of being an auror after that war. Canon wasn't implausible, but I felt it was a bit unlikely. It was also short. This story feels both more natural and gives more closure, being a quite heart-warming tale.

For Teddy Lupin, Harry Potter would become a Dark Lord. For Teddy Lupin, Harry Potter would take down the Ministry or die trying. He should have known that Hermione and Ron wouldn't let him do it alone.

    Bookmarker's Notes

The first (and so far only) "Harry goes Dark Lord" fic I've enjoyed. It's both in character and plausible, assuming the Ministry would do something that stupid even after the war was over. Of course, it's the Ministry. Without spoiling, the way the characters' morality is handled is very well and subtly done. Particularly Hermione. But the story also uses other characters to great effect, including Professor McGonagall and even Professor Flitwick. All-in-all, a very engaging read that sucks you in.
