You can feel the heat rising beneath your skin under his scrutiny, feeling exposed even though you are fully dressed. Part of you, caught in the gravity of his stare, is curious, eager to know his next move, but the other, more rational part, is all too aware that it’s not really him behind this heated gaze so you rest your free hand on his chest to push him away.
He catches it again before you can, though. Fingers biting into your wrists when he plants it next to your other one, trapping the both of them now underneath a layer of impenetrable ice, so cold it burns but nothing you can’t take.
“Wait—Zayne!” you yelp, fall back against your pillows, both arms now stretched above your head, restricting your movement.
It gives this Zayne the room to rear over you and you shudder under his shadow, less in fear but more in anticipation when he glanced down at the sight that treated him, your slack mouth breathing hard, your heaving chest and half lidded eyes.
“Oh,” his voice was a little too smug to be genuine. “Like this, do you?”
