È strano come il caso faccia incontrare le persone. Jyn trovava molto curioso come un gatto potesse averla portata a fare la conoscenza di Cassian. Erano passati alcuni giorni da quando aveva ricevuto quella telefonata e lei stava ancora a ripensarci. Certe volte temeva di essere stata maleducata, altre credeva fermamente di essere stata nel giusto, eppure Cassian era stato relativamente gentile e onesto con lei e le aveva pure risposto ai messaggi, senza più scriverne di sua iniziativa però. Questo la rendeva nervosa, perché, senza averne un motivo, Jyn avrebbe voluto conoscerlo.

Questo è un discorso serio, perché Poe era profondamente innamorato di un uomo che gli aveva salvato la vita e si rischiava di scadere nel cliché , perché quale storia d’amore non inizia con il salvataggio di una delle due parti in un’impresa eroica? [...] Insomma, Poe aveva una chiara idea di trovarsi dentro il più grande stereotipo che potesse esserci: innamorarsi del suo salvatore.
Come non farlo, d’altronde? Finn è, ora più di allora, un uomo strepitoso. Agli occhi del pilota brillava di luce propria, quasi, il che lo rendeva maggiormente lo zimbello dei suoi colleghi e commilitoni. Ad ogni modo, c’erano svariati motivi per cui Poe amava Finn: il ragazzo era generoso e gentile nonostante l’ambiente in cui il Primo Ordine l’aveva cresciuto ed educato, era intelligente e pieno di risorse nonostante il ruolo in cui era stato relegato, era onesto e forte e qui -- beh, qui nasceva un problema. -

Poe avrebbe voluto discutere [...] ma all’improvviso si rese conto che lei già sapeva cosa stava pensando, perché lei poteva entrargli nella mente e, appena il pensiero lo sfiorò, percepì una sensazione strana pervaderlo, qualcosa di estraneo, qualcosa che si suppone non dovesse esserci e non dovesse sentire - e quando Poe guardò di nuovo Rey negli occhi vide che ella era concentrata su di lui e si sentì studiato - e si sentì invaso - e si sentì come quando stava legato su una stupida cella nella Finalizer e Kylo Ren gli strappava dal cervello ogni singolo pensiero - e Poe tremò, fino al midollo, guardando quella ragazza all’apparenza così ingenua mentre cercava di entrare nella sua cazzo di testa.
Stava impazzendo. Poe stava impazzendo, perché tutto questo non aveva alcun senso, Rey non avrebbe mai potuto fargli una cosa del genere. Giusto?
