The hand squeezed his. “Talk to me, C,” the woman who was not his mother implored.
Cardi did not want to talk to her. Cardi wanted to forget his too-real dream. Maybe then he could carry on, keep working his ass off for nothing in the vain hope that one day, Imperator might let him front the Ghost Project.
Lost in a world where all of his hopes and dreams had never come to fruition and never would, Cardi is left to drift – alone and without a purpose, unloved.
Meanwhile, figures lurk in the shadows, watching.

Valentine’s Day was difficult to seize when it happened to fall upon your only child’s birthday, but Henshingly was determined to do something with his wife, even if they had little time to savour it.

Jeffery and the woman were staring at each other across the desk, unmoving – the woman with a huge smile on her face and Jeffery looking like he’d just been propositioned by a turnip with legs and an unusually eloquent speech pattern. The fuck are they talking about in there?
While Connie was out being oblivious, other characters did things (because shocker, they're people too).
Note: This is a collection of extra scenes set during my other fic, Continuance, and is written from the POV of other characters. It probably won't make any sense without having read Continuance first for the context!
