Summary
Set in Season 6, after most of the dark badness between Spike and Buffy has happened. Spike disappears, and Buffy finds him - drastically changed, brutally damaged and only slightly resembling his former self. She must help him recover while dealing with their past issues, and trying to figure out who did this to him in the first place.

Though clearly Spuffy-centric, we've tried to do justice to the BA - relationship too, as well as the complicated frienmity between Spike and Angel

Summary
Spike returns to Los Angeles to visit Buffy at her new apartment and meets her new roommate, Cat. But, his visit becomes a hassle when a good deed is caught on tape. Soon the whole city is looking for the man to thank. Or is it to blame? During this first person account, Spike struggles with his feelings for Buffy while also navigating through an unwanted adventure with both familiar and new adversaries.
The story takes place after season 7 of Buffy and season 5 of Angel. Buffy knows Spike is alive. The story includes a few details from the comic books, such as Xander and Dawn's relationship, but storylines from the comic books have not occurred.

She leaps from 2004 (post-"Not Fade Away") to 2001 ("The Gift"). With no time to prepare and 2 hours on the clock, does she give him enough info to change things?

Summary
He was the only person who ever left her whose abandonment she'd truly earned, and he was the only one who kept coming back.
Events went differently in Season 6, after "Gone", and Buffy and her friends try to get back to what passes for normal on the Hellmouth. But wouldn't you know, as soon as they beat back one interdimensional baddie, the portents of yet another "dark power rising" start to appear. Unfortunately, Willow has seen that this time the demon threat will succeed in wiping Sunnydale off the map — especially if it can recruit the Slayer of Slayers to its side — and that's the best case scenario. This permanent WIP is intended as an alternate season of Buffy.
Note from the poster: This story is entirely by Anna S. (eliade), who has generously allowed me to post her fic to AO3. It is a classic of Buffy fanfic, unfinished and likely to remain so. It has only been available via Wayback Machine for the last several years, and deserves a wider readership. A readership which will soon discover a rich and compelling tale by a master of dialog, characterization, and plotting.
